I will be spending my evening eating hors d’oeuvres and drinking non-alcoholic, bright pink raspberry sherbet punch with two 6 year old twin girls, having a “spa” night and letting them stay up until midnight.
They’re my roommates’ little sisters… and the closest thing I’ve ever had to little sisters. (I’ve been with them since day one.) I agreed...

Swallow Your Pride - lead & old family photos
I literally do not even know - it came to me in a dream almost and it is a pleasure to look at, though a bit untidy. I have been inspired by a bunch of things circulation through Tumblr and Flickr that manipulate old and new photos into…
Just a sample of the lovely and aforementioned Ash Schanley’s art!

Revamping the blizzog.
(Yes, I really just used the word blizzog instead of blog. It’s been one of those days.)
Anyway. Onto what this post is about!
One of the people closest to my heart has gone out on an artistic limb — one she frequents — and has been kind enough to do a total revamp of my blog that documents my travels through mainstream music journalism and culture, Soul Coughing. Her name is...

Etsy.
I have spent hours for the past three days on this site. It’s becoming a problem.
I’m asking sellers to make me custom items that I may or may not be buying… (okay, I only did that with one woman, and I do plan on purchasing what she makes me… but still!) I keep making lists and favoriting all these gorgeous pieces. I add things into my cart that I want to buy — and...

Did these little framed 5x7 drawings for family Christmas gifts.
This isn’t to show my off my artwork but I had a lot of fun doing these and, well…the scans are here lying on my desktop so I might as well Tumble them.
Sorry they’re water-marked, but I’ve been encouraged to do this to discourage…
Oh, Sherri! These are all so breathtaking! What a perfect gift. Anyone would...

Panera Bread...
is where my heart lies as far as meals go.
Plus, this free wi-fi is pretty sweet. Not that I can’t get free wi-fi at home, but I feel like I’m socializing with human beings better in a public environment.
And you can’t beat this wheat baguette and creamy tomato soup. sfdhsdhfghksdf. Makes life so much better.

I have a confession.
I really, really like paper goods.
Envelopes, parchment, different kinds of pens, quills with ink… and I don’t even write that many letters. But I suppose I do write often. It’s my passion, as I’ve said many times. Because of this I am thinking of spending a portion of my Christmas money on just paper goods. (Etsy, I have found, is best for this. They are best for many...

Christmas Cash.
I’m a champ when it comes to buying for myself.
Well… most of the time.
I got $50.00 for Christmas (so far!). I am not complaining by any means. This works just fine for me. And as my mum’s boyfriend says, “Money is money.”
The only thing I AM complaining about is what to spend it on!
This gets me every year. Spend it or save it? And if I spend, what do I buy?...

True Grit.
True Grit was a fantastic movie. I loved its simplicity, its soundtrack, and cannot praise it enough.
I have plans to read the novel as well as see the older film.
Everyone, go see it. And have a lovely, lovely holiday. :)

Because I say “What is air?” so often. And because he is a science/physics nerd. And because he has sat with me while I peruse Tumblr many times.
Best gift ever? I thought so. :)
He also got me Contra… because I just had it on my iPod and not in actual CD form for some reason. (He knows I prefer CD’s and vinyl.)

It's Christmas Time in the City... !
So many lights. So many sweets. So many presents under the tree…
I am going blissfully bonkers! :) This time of year is the best time of year for me. While the gifts are nice, when someone mentions Christmas I automatically think of awesome foods and wonderful time with my family.
This year I was introduced to Swedish tea cakes and candy, as my boyfriend (who is also my best friend) has a...
